GEAUX GREEN IN LOUISIANA

Students at St. Margaret Catholic School are very innovative ..they are currently working on Energy around the World ..Students are researching the top 10 energy sources to become specialist in their field ..They are inviting Energy companies from around the state to speak at an Energy Fair on March 19th Wed. at 8:30-10:30 am and Have also invited two other school to participate in the function.
On March 11th the students will be participating in a community wide meeting in our school gym discussing and showing a power point on the state project GEAUX GREEN ENERGY..
The students visited a green(renewable biomass) power company in February and They visited a nonrenewable coal fired power company on that same day ..The student will also be collecting Aluminum cans for a International recycling Project called Heifer International the students have collected close to $500.00 this year from Aluminum..And last but not least Team Greens Phone book drive rolls to and end this month so please bring your phone books to this meeting or you can drop them off at the Roving Recycle truck just tell them they are for St. Margaret Catholic School . Our 9th annual Recycle garage Sale on March 8th from 7:00-1:00 in the school gym .Wewill also take the phone books this day also..

We are going green! We purchased 14 compact flourescent bulbs yesterday to finish switching our lights over. We also purchased green household cleaners & laundry detergent. I would love to run our home on solar power. Hopefully this isn't too far in the future.
